You're officially invited to enjoy the 2023 edition of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival from Indio, California, streaming live on YouTube from April 14-16. This year, for the first time, viewers can witness all of the action unfold from across every festival stage for both weekends.
Who's performing you ask? Bad Bunny, BLACKPINK, Frank Ocean, Calvin Harris, Gorillaz, Rosalía and many, many, many more.
According to the YouTube blog, it doesn't matter where you watch from.
"Whether you're watching from home, abroad, or at parties with friends, anyone can tune into Coachella’s YouTube Channel, pick a stage, and watch the performances happening live with the rest of the fans. In between sets, livestream viewers will be treated to on-the-ground coverage of the art, artists, installations, behind-the-scenes Short moments and more, capturing the complete Coachella experience for the audience at home."
Live streaming is no longer the new kid on the block when it comes to music festivals. Over the last decade, a number of different variables have led to the increasing popularity of the medium to call it mainstream. One of those variables has been the advances in technology, specifically high-speed internet, it's availability, and it's cost. This has allowed Coachella to increase it's global footprint as it welcomes millions of viewers to 'attend' the festival digitally.
That also has perks for the fans, too. Rather than shelling out thousands of dollars for tickets, traveling across the country, and waiting in long concession and bathroom lines, fans tune in for free, from the comforts of wherever they are, on whatever device they choose. In 2019, over 89 million viewers tuned in for the global live stream and digital conversation.
Viewers have the chance to be a part of this year’s Coachella history by catching the show from their smartphone, living room, computer or elsewhere via Coachella’s YouTube Channel, within the YouTube Music app, or in the embedded stage feeds below! All the action of weekend one kicks off at 4pm PT / 7pm ET Friday, April 14th and runs through April 16th.
