PEORIA, Ill. (March 26, 2024) – i3 Broadband, a leading provider of high-speed fiber-optic internet services, has confirmed that service has been restored for all customers impacted by a temporary interruption between Monday, March 25 and Tuesday, March 26.
Service was interrupted in the afternoon on Monday, March 25 due to a third-party construction crew cutting a major fiber trunk line in Peoria. The damage to the trunk line impacted service for customers in Missouri and several areas in Illinois, including Springfield, Chatham, Lincoln, Jacksonville and Champaign/Urbana.
After learning of this situation, i3 Broadband immediately deployed personnel and equipment to work through the night to conduct repairs at the site. Service was fully restored for all impacted homes and businesses in the early morning hours of Tuesday, March 26.
“We understand the critical importance reliable internet connectivity has on our customers’ professional and personal lives, and we are committed to doing everything in our power to avoid interruptions of any kind,” said Steve Gorman, Chief Marketing Officer, i3 Broadband. “While we were not involved in the construction activity that led to this recent outage, we were proud to play a major role in repairing the damage on a rapid, overnight timeline. We thank our customers for their patience, and we applaud our crews for their hard work and attention to this issue.”
